Living in London

Chelsea College of Arts is located in Pimlico, in central London. Overlooking Tate Britain and the river Thames, it is a fantastic location to study art and design.

Where to live

Our students live in a wide variety of locations across London and choose where they live based on a number of things such as travel time to college, cost of accommodation and how close they are to friends.

Housing options include halls of residence, private renting, house shares and living at home. The cost of private renting depends on the area in which you want to live.

The local area

Our central London location makes it very easy to get to and from any other part of the city. Pimlico is close to other vibrant and interesting areas such as the West End, South Bank, Brixton and Peckham. It is also easily accessible from areas such as Islington, Shoreditch and Camden.

Going out

Local pub The White Swan is a fantastic place to catch up with friends after tutorials and to celebrate your success. Over the bridge is Royal Vauxhall Tavern, a legendary LGBT venue which was formerly a Victorian music hall. Further down the road, Victoria boasts 3 theatres including the Victoria Palace Theatre which is currently home to the Broadway hit Hamilton.

Eating out

There are local gems around the corner from the College to pop out to on your lunch break including Relish Sandwich Shop and Lebanese Gardens which offers authentic Lebanese food including delicious falafels. For Italian there is O’ Sole Mio a short walk away, and Lime Orange serves Korean bibimbap, barbecue, noodles and more, with vegan and gluten free options. A short walk away you can also find street food stalls at Tatchbrook Street Market and Lower Marsh Market.

Studios and galleries

While our central location means you will find it easy to get to galleries and museums all over London, there are plenty of galleries nearby:
