LVMH Lecture Theatre

A row of grey seats in an empty lecture theatre

The LVMH Lecture Theatre is located opposite the canteen on the Street and hosts a wide range of events and lectures throughout the year.

It is a versatile space which can be used as one large lecture hall or divided into two separate areas. It provides valuable teaching space, and is also used to host events like the College’s public lecture series, the Afterall Film Club, and many lively panel debates and Q&A sessions. As well as providing a space that can adapt to a wide variety of different requirements, the lecture theatre has a multi-screen and audio setup that facilitates multimedia presentations.

The relationship between Central Saint Martins and LVMH has developed over many years across a range of different projects and collaborations and the LVMH lecture theatre is a recent example of the luxury brand’s commitment to supporting the creative talent of the future. Since 2011 LVMH has awarded Grand Prix Scholarships to three BA Fashion students each year. Students are selected based on talent and financial need and then funded through their final year on BA Fashion which allows them to concentrate freely on their collections.

LVMH has also funded several very successful student and graduate projects such as Louis Vuitton’s Christmas Windows Project with BA Graphic Design, which was launched in 360 stores worldwide. Givenchy’s Rouge Interdit lipstick project with Product Design graduates won a Wallpaper Magazine Awards and our Graphics and Communication Design students recently completed visual identity project with cosmetics brand Fresh.
