What’s your background?

I studied Fine Art at Chelsea School Of Art and specialised as a painter. I have worked with many different painting materials and finishes, working with Mixed media materials and light sensitive photographic emulsion. I have exhibited in the UK and internationally and sold work to a number of public and private collections, see my website at www.carolinelist.com.

What do you love most about your job?

I am always learning something new and I love the creative inventive environment. The students are always asking challenging questions, which I try my best to answer.

What's your favourite thing about Central Saint Martins?

Great new workshops and facilities and the team I work with are always an inspiration.

Other artists - there are too many to mention.

I have so many favourites, it depends on my mood but to start in fashion: Pam Hog, Mark Jacobs, and BIBA.

Artist Traditional: Gasper David Friedrich, John Martin Francisco Goya.

What advice would you give to new students?

Experimentation is the key, explore your ideas through different materials and expand on your skills. ‘ Rome wasn’t built in a day.’
