Biography
Tell us about yourself…
My name is Ricky Lee Brawn, I work at CSM as a Specialist Technician in the 3D Small Metal Workshop here in King’s Cross, London, England.
What’s your background?
I have a wide and varied background in various engineering disciplines since I left school, these include motor vehicle, mechanical engineering - manufacture of large/small pumps/submarine propulsion. My long term hobbies are Hot Rod and Custom Motorcycle building. I have also been heavily involved in music for over 40 years (as a drummer/bandleader & songwriter), I also own a vintage sound recording studio and have been involved in many band sessions over the years.
How did you come to work at CSM?
My wife Helen suggested that I apply for a model making technician’s position that was advertised in 2007, luckily I got the job and have been with CSM ever since.
What do you love most about your job?
Working with our students and the wonderful variety of projects they bring along!
What's your favourite thing about Central Saint Martins?
The amazing variety of collective imagination!
Who or what is your biggest inspiration?
A massive question indeed! Let me just say - every aspect of life!
