Biography

Andy is Subject Leader for Fashion Film Practice.

As an independent filmmaker Andy has produced, directed and edited films for brands including Barclays, Dune, Proctor & Gamble, Oasis, Tateossian, Goldwell and with institutions including The Barbican Centre and The Royal Ballet. The Stage described his work as ‘stunning visual imagery’ and it's been TV Pick of the Week in The London Evening Standard and Time Out.

He oversees film production and helps enable innovative and reflective creative practice in the Postgraduate Courses, championing fashion film-making not only as an industry-led output but an invaluable communication skill across enterprise and the arts. Graduating work has been shown at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival, BornShorts and the British Film Institute and LCF sponsors a fashion film strand at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival.

Andy oversees film production and helps enable innovative and reflective creative practice in the Postgraduate Courses.

Andy recently spoke on the panel at 'Transgression and Convention in the Fashion Film' at the Institute of Contemporary Art as part of the London Short Film Festival, chaired a discussion at the 'New Medium, Diverse Messages' fashion film conference and presented 'Shooting from the Hip: Fashion Film Practice & Mobile Technologies' at Texas State University.

He is a jury member for the 2015 Buenos Aires International Fashion Film Festival, where he'll also be presenting an Introduction to Fashion Film.

As the Graduate School Learning & Teaching Coordinator Andy leads on various initiatives to encourage innovative academic practice around the use of mobile technologies - enjoying research and informed agitation at the intersection of personal technology and creative practice. He has spoken at the BFI Media Conference on iPad & film education and recently presented 'Wearing it on Our Sleeve: Learning, Teaching & The Internet of Things' at the Designs on E-Learning conference as a starting point for research around wearable technology, fashion communication and pedagogic practice.

In 2013 he received a certificate from the White Square Students’ Union Teaching Award.

He is currently directing film for WORTH, a pan-European project in collaboration with LCF and L'Institut Français de la Mode, collaborating with London-based creative collective Anomalous Visuals and continuing his varied work as an independent consultant.
