Biography

Jo is the Academic English Language Tutor on the International Preparation for Design, Media and Screen course at London College of Communication.

Jo is the Academic English Language Tutor on the International Preparation for Design, Media and Screen course. She has worked as a teacher and lecturer for 14 years, with experience of English Language Teaching, IELTS preparation, English for Academic Purposes and Academic Language and Communication. Her teaching career began by teaching in Italy, followed by Brazil and finally London.

Jo has developed teaching syllabus and materials, given teacher training sessions and has lectured at the annual London College of Fashion conference.

In addition, she is a member of the forum for professionals in her field: the British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP). Previous study has included Foundation in Art and Design and a HND in Graphic Design from Berkshire College of Art and Design. She also has a Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language.

Currently, Jo is studying an MA Education in Culture and Language. Her teaching philosophy is one of guidance and encouragement for students and above all, Jo believes in developing the skills necessary for current and future study at undergraduate level for UAL.
