Biography

Mo-Ling is a Senior Lecturer on BA (Hons) Design Management at London College of Communication, she was Course Leader from 2015 to 2022. She is a creative director and strategist, facilitator and curator/programmer with over 20 years experience conceptualising, designing, managing and delivering diverse projects internationally (UK, China, Canada).

Working with international agencies, brands and clients from 2002-2012, Mo-Ling gained expertise in marketing, experiential and digital: designing and managing large-scale cultural and corporate brand pavilions (Olympic games, World Expos), mounting public participatory projects, strategically orienting brands to Chinese markets, and coaching clients through re-brandings, cultural and digital transformation.

Mo-Ling continues to work as a creative and innovation consultant and facilitator for diverse organisations, start-ups, brands and multidisciplinary projects. She is currently an associate with Current Works (service design), the Design Thinkers Academy and Meeting Facilitators, based out of London, UK.

Mo-Ling graduated from London College of Printing in 2002 with an MA in Interactive Multimedia and has a BA International Relations and Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia. She became an HEA fellow with a PG Cert for Art and Design in 2019 and is currently completing the ICF coaching training.

In her research and creative practice Mo-Ling applies ethnographic and human-centred design thinking approaches to develop cultural intelligence and social design projects. She explores themes around creativity/design pedagogy, emerging and future identities, diversity and diaspora.

Mo-Ling has presented research and facilitated workshops at Cumulus Hong Kong 2016, Cumulus Kolding 2017, AIGA Design Conference “Designer of 2025” in Minneapolis, 2017, DRS (Design Research Society) 2018, IAM (future of the internet(s) 2019 and the Design Ops Global Conference 2021.
