Support in halls

a group of staff and students wave their arms in the air happily

Each of our halls has dedicated Halls staff on site 24/7 to help you feel at home.

Residence Managers

All our halls are staffed 24/7 and have a Residence Manager and/ or an Accommodation Manager, who manages the team in each hall. Your Residence Manager and / or Accommodation Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the building and ensuring tenancy agreements are managed correctly. They also deal with any welfare issues or queries that you may have; no issue is too big or too small. You are provided with your Residence Manager’s details on arrival in halls and can contact them directly, by phone, email or by arranging an in-person meeting to discuss any queries or concerns.

Out of hours team

You are given the 24-hour contact number when you arrive in halls, which you can use to contact security and reception staff on site, if you have any immediate welfare concerns or wish to report antisocial behaviour. You can also report concerns directly to your hall reception desk.

There is also a dedicated 24-hour UAL management team, who oversee all the sites. They look after students in the evenings, overnight and on weekends. The management team can be called by site staff to attend halls if required and support you with any concerns.

Events and wellbeing programme

UAL offer an extensive events and wellbeing programme, open to all students staying in UAL halls of residences. The team run a mixture of free events, taking place in halls and low cost events, including day trips in the UK, theatre visits, art gallery visits and other events across London.

To find out more about what's happening this year visit the UAL Halls Life Instagram page @ualhallslife or Halls Life.

Job opportunities

Committee members are students who live and work in halls as part of UAL’s events and wellbeing programme. They play an important part in running events and wellbeing activities whilst making sure that all students are looked after at every stage of their journey in halls.
