Veterans Affairs Funding

VA funding application steps

The University of the Arts London (UAL) has previously been an approved provider of funding and benefits offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Unfortunately, UAL cannot process any further VA-funded applications due to new foreign institution regulatory changes. This means the University will no longer process VA funding for students starting in the 2023/24 academic year onwards.

You might be eligible for VA education benefits if you or one of your parents served in the United States Armed Forces.

Step 1: Eligibility and application

Contact the US Department of Veterans Affairs to determine whether you are entitled to educational benefits. Applications for VA education benefits can be made online through the US Department of Veterans Affairs. For advice, please get in touch with 1-888-GI-BILL1 (442-4551).

Step 2: Tell us about your eligibility for VA education benefits

Submit a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility via uscanadaloans@arts.ac.uk.

Step 3: Course approval

If your course is not on the VA-approved course list, the Student Funding Service will seek your approval on your behalf.

Step 4: Enrolment confirmation

After enrolling on your course, the Student Funding Service will confirm your enrolment by submitting your VA Enrolment Certification (VA Form 22-1999).

Step 5: Payments of the VA funds

If your VA education benefits do not cover the tuition fees in full, you will be responsible for paying any tuition fee shortfall. There might be other sources of funding available to you. For more information, visit the US students loans page.
